A Thankful Heart

1 Thessalonians 5:18 Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

What is your heart driven by? Are you driven by a thankful heart? Or a heart driven by lack? Driven by what you don’t have?

What we are thankful for: talents, health, church, family, coffee, education, freedom, the Bible, good food, high heels, ice cream, chocolate, Holy Spirit, clothing, shopping, music, cricket, employment, Australia, friends, the list goes on…

The devil deceives us into thinking these things are unimportant. He causes us to focus of what we don’t have. So what we don’t have becomes our passion.

We know the story of the prodigal son, but today we will rename it the unthankful son. Unthanfkulness took hold of his life.

Chasing after what you don’t have will take you to the pig pen. To where you lose it all.

Being thankful in all things will point to God. He will supply all your needs. He already has.

The devil tempted Jesus with lack, but Jesus overcame. When you are under stress at work, amp up your thankfulness.
