2 Timothy 1:5 I’m reminded of your authentic faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice. I’m sure that this faith is also inside you.

What does it mean to have authentic faith? To be an authentic Christian in this world?

Authentic (Merriam-Webster) – true to one’s own personality, spirit, or character; genuine, not fake, exactly as they appear to be (Advanced British English Dictionary).

True to one’s spirit

Romans 8:9 But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you. (And remember that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them do not belong to him at all.)

Authentic is being true to one’s spirit.

Being authentic is being true to the spirit of God within you.

Authentic is letting the Spirit guide you and producing the corresponding fruit. Being authentic does not produce the fruit of the flesh but the fruit of the Spirit.

Authentic and transparent are not the same.

1 John 4:4 But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.

Being authentic is being true to the spirit in me and the spirit in me is greater than the spirit of the world.

Satan would like to keep you down and defeated but it is not the spirit in you.

That’s why we say things like, “I’m healed. I’m debt free.” Because it is your authentic self.

Not fake
The Bible is full of authentic people. Did they make mistakes? Yes. But their mistakes did not define them.
We all make mistakes. We don’t have to be known for our mistakes. Be known for your victory.

Exactly as they appear to be – consistency

1 Corinthians 15:58 So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.

Ephesians 6:13-14 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand…

Why do good things happen to them but not me? My guess, consistency.
Did you follow through? Did you keep going till the end? Did you not give up?
The key to breakthrough is in consistency.
