Romans 15:13 Oh! May the God of green hope fill you up with joy, fill you up with peace, so that your believing lives, filled with the life-giving energy of the Holy Spirit, will brim over with hope!
The Holy Spirit came to love us, live in us and energise us.
Acts 10:43-44 He is the one all the prophets testified about, saying that everyone who believes in him will have their sins forgiven through his name.” Even as Peter was saying these things, the Holy Spirit fell upon all who were listening to the message.
The Holy Spirit falling on us is like an embrace of love. Your sins are forgiven, feel His embrace.
The Holy Spirit is different to the spirit of this world.
John 14:17 He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you.
1 Corinthians 2:12 And we have received God’s Spirit not the world’s spirit, so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us.
John 16:8 And when he comes, he will convict the world of its sin, and of God’s righteousness, and of the coming judgment.
What Grieves the Holy Spirit?
Ephesians 4:29 And do not bring sorrow to God’s Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption.
What grieves the Holy Spirit? A lack of grace.
Mark 3:5 He looked around at them angrily and was deeply saddened by their hard hearts. Then he said to the man, “Hold out your hand.” So the man held out his hand, and it was restored!
If you want to have energy, be gracious.
