The blessed hope

Titus 2:13 looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ

The hope we have in the resurrection of the dead.

Romans 8:23 Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body.

Philippians 3:21 who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.

2 phases to the second coming of Christ
Phase 1:

1 Thessalonians 4:13-17 And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died. We tell you this directly from the Lord: We who are still living when the Lord returns will not meet him ahead of those who have died. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever.

Phase 2:

Acts 1:11 “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why are you standing here staring into heaven? Jesus has been taken from you into heaven, but someday he will return from heaven in the same way you saw him go!”

First time Jesus came for the church. Second time He comes with the church for Israel. He will plant His feet on the Mount of Olives.
Rapture means caught up. It is not in the Bible.
Rapture happened to Enoch and Elijah. It is in prophecy, for example the valley of dry bones.
Did Jesus mention the rapture?
Matthew 24

Jesus is talking to Jews in this chapter. The rapture will not be only a few people. It will be lots of people.

The sign of return in this chapter is talking about how it will be for Jews after the church has been raptured.
Will the church go through the tribulation? No.

John 14:3 When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.

1 Corinthians 15:51-52 But let me reveal to you a wonderful secret. We will not all die, but we will all be transformed! It will happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will be raised to live forever. And we who are living will also be transformed.

1 Thessalonians 1:10 And they speak of how you are looking forward to the coming of God’s Son from heaven—Jesus, whom God raised from the dead. He is the one who has rescued us from the terrors of the coming judgment.

1 Thessalonians 5:9-10 For God chose to save us through our Lord Jesus Christ, not to pour out his anger on us. Christ died for us so that, whether we are dead or alive when he returns, we can live with him forever.

Romans 14:10 So why do you condemn another believer? Why do you look down on another believer? Remember, we will all stand before the judgment seat of God.

The judgement seat is the bema seat. It is a reward seat.

Revelation 4:10 the twenty-four elders fall down and worship the one sitting on the throne the one who lives forever and ever. And they lay their crowns before the throne and say,

We will throw our crowns down anyway.

1 Thessalonians 4:17 Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever.

If you believe Jesus saves, you will be raptured.
